A Spring Wedding at the Coach House
As Laura mentioned in her vows, it is amazing that two people who grew up 8,000 miles away from each other would end up committing the rest of their lives together.
Laura and Aanand first met when she and her roommate, Emily, were in search of a third roommate. Cue Aanand, and “New Boy” became that roommate for over a year before he and Laura started dating. Spoiler alert: we celebrated Laura and Aanand’s love at their wedding last Sunday! And their wedding wouldn’t be complete without their third roommate, Emily, there to officiate the whole thing.
April 23rd had the most beautiful weather! A perfect mix of clouds and blue skies, mild temperatures and blooming trees. When I arrived at the Ryland Inn, Laura and the girls were just finishing up their hair and makeup, and Aanand was perfecting his vows before transferring them over to his vow book. The mauves of the bridesmaid dresses and florals blended beautifully with the surrounding florals. With the details so well planned, the only thing I had to orchestrate was the portraits. This was the easiest part of the day by far. Laura and Aanand were so happy. They smiled and laughed at every turn.
The friends and family surrounding them did likewise. I have no idea what the groomsmen found to laugh about all day, but it proves that no distance from each other could separate strong bonds of friendship. Many of Aanand’s friends and family traveled great distances to be there for Laura and Aanand’s wedding. The sentimental ceremony and personalized touches of their friend officiating, as well as their hand written vows made it that more special to them and to those who were blessed to witness.
Laura and Aanand’s devotion to their friends and family – to make sure they spent quality time greeting everyone at cocktail hour (thanks to their portrait time before the ceremony!) is a testimony to their kind hearts. I was also thrilled with their devotion to beautiful pictures, so when the sun began to set, and cast a beautiful warm glow over the Coach House, they were more than willing to take a few moments break from their loved ones to capture a few more portraits!
We ended the night with a wonderful party, great food and perhaps a little cake on the face. Laura and Aanand, it was a pleasure to be part of your wedding! Thank you for welcoming us into your lives and entrusting us with your beautiful pictures!
