The Best of Weddings 2019

This is going to be my longest blog post ever. How do I sum up such a wonderful year of matrimony in a short blog? I tried my best. To be honest, I already knew which pictures, off the top of my head, were my favorites from every single wedding. There are 25. From New Jersey weddings to Pennsylvania weddings to upstate New York weddings! I am beyond grateful for all my couples, and hope these pictures bring them as much joy as possible year after year!

Winter 2019

Our first wedding of 2019 was at the Palace at Somerset Park. Jackie and David did a fantastic job of accessorizing for the cold for their dreamy first look at sunset. I just can’t get over her cozy shawl, and David’s white scarf, complete with tassles!

We finished February with Adriana and Alex’s wedding at Natirar. They’re wedding was a winter white dream from every aspect of the details! This wedding was published in Glittery Bride and you can find their favorites HERE!

Spring 2019

We rang in the first signs of Spring with Emily and Scott’s wedding. Emily and Scott planned their wedding in just 9 months! The details that went into this wedding were insane too! I don’t think there was a moment all day where Emily was not laughing! Such contagious joy!

Guys! This was my first Indian wedding and I am HOOKED! I also vote for a Baraat at the beginning of EVERY wedding ceremony. Not practical, I know, but how much fun to introduce the groom to the bride’s family than with beating drums and lots of dancing?! Dana and Arun were so much fun to work with and we actually didn’t want to leave at the end of the night. We also took more pictures than we’ve ever taken at a wedding before! This was one for the books, and just so beautiful!

When classic elegance and Grace Kelly combine you get Carolyn and Taylor’s wedding. Married in their church in Basking Ridge, and celebrating their reception at Fiddler’s Elbow, we were suddenly, and most unexpectedly down-poured on! This led us to the silver room in Fiddler’s Elbow, and one of my favorite pictures ever! Also, Carolyn wanted portraits taken at her childhood home, which didn’t fit into her wedding day schedule. So, we did them months later! I’ve added them here as well!

I love when I get to see so many familiar faces again! I photographed Laura and Hunter’s wedding in late 2018 and this spring, I photographed Laura’s sister, Kathleen’s wedding! Kathleen and David got married at Hamilton Farm on the most perfect June day!

Wedding. Party. Goals. Danielle and Nick’s wedding was filled with lots of emotions, which of course, we love! But they also had such a fun wedding party! I mean, the pictures don’t lie. These people live to party, and they were so much fun to photograph!

Summer 2019

Jen and Jon contacted me after they got engaged to find out when I was available to shoot their wedding! They didn’t even have a date or venue booked, but after being part of Hilary & Jake’s wedding in 2018, they were so excited to have me as their photographer, and we had the BEST time at their wedding. Unexpected rain or shine, if we said “let’s take some pictures outside” they were like, “we’re in!”

Is there anything more romantic than a summer stormy sky against the rolling hills of the Somerset Hills? Nope. And we got all of Alyssa and Rob’s portraits done just before a huge storm rolled in. As they said their vows under their beautiful orchid covered Chuppah, the sun streamed in and lit up the entire ceremony.

Hello hot summer! The two hottest days of the year both fell on wedding days! Romy and Brian were such troopers, and Romy looked so elegant on this hot summer day. I was drenched in sweat…and Brian may have had a few back up shirts. One of my favorite moments was when he was getting blow dried before the ceremony. Drastic times call for drastic measures! We took the outdoor pictures in stages to get a break from the heat, but I just love the way the humidity covered the rolling hills in the distance! Plus, Brian sang to his new bride at the reception. What a guy!

Day 2 of extreme heat! Rachel and Will had the coolest, most modern wedding. All of the inspiration came from Will’s design of Rachel’s engagement ring. Yep! He designed it! Little did he know, it’s design would spark the creation a whole invitation suite, and from there the wedding decor. The most massive, exotic, and stunning designs! Plus, I think I’m going to get some of these parasols for every summer wedding hence forth!

I love seeing new venues! This was my first wedding at the Park Savoy, so I went with Kelly and her Mom to view the venue and all the different spaces she absolutely loved about it! When the wedding day came, it was a little warmer than we had hoped, so we did their bride and groom portraits in just under 6 minutes! I absolutely love how the pictures came out! Matt is such a character, and was so excited to marry Kelly. Most of my favorites from this wedding were, in fact, Matt’s many faces!

I love seeing my brides and bridesmaids (and groomsmen!) again! Kerri was a bridesmaid in Courtney and Calvin’s wedding in 2017 and contacted me shortly after her engagement! Not wanting to run into her groom before their ceremony, Kerri and her brother had connecting Pokemon walkie talkies so they could roam about the hotel and know each other’s whereabouts. Brilliant. And Frank’s hot rod? The extra details at this wedding made it even more fun!

Emily and Scott (yes, I had TWO “Emily and Scott” couples who BOTH got married at Natirar this year!) are locals to the Somerset Hills, so they got married in their own church and had their reception not far from home! After quite a windy engagement session last year, they were absolute pros in front of the camera under perfect weather conditions. Might I add that Scott is one of my best “gigglers.”

Lori and Bruce came to me later in the year with their small wedding plans at Ninety Acres. They wrote their own vows, and I’m pretty sure the last of Lori’s was that she promised to “make him lima beans, even though she hates them.” Now, THAT is true love!

After a soiree at the Mansion at Natirar, an engagement session one month before the big day, and the wedding all happening within a couple of weeks, I felt like we were photographing old friends! Jill and Rob had such a beautifully, timeless and classic wedding. Rob’s ability to make Jill laugh all the time, made these portraits some of my favorites!

Fall 2019

Kristin and Connor had both beach engagement session and wedding, and I loved that my summer was extended by their fall beach wedding! Mist? Not a problem! Believe it or not, it was misting/raining for the entire time we were on the beach, and these two made it look like a piece of cake!

Alison is my comedian bride of the year! She had me laughing all day long, and also introduced me to this cooling bracelet, which is life saving. Not so photogenic, but as someone who is always hot, I need this in my life. Alison and Jonathan had a perfect misty, yet glowing sun set at the end of their cocktail hour. Honestly, this wedding was a real life fairytale.

Cara and Adam introduced me to a whole new world in the West Village at their amazing engagement session. I knew that Cara’s wedding was going to be super well planned, and the epitome of a classic, timeless and elegant wedding. I wasn’t wrong. I also got to photograph about 4 pairs of shoes. This is what wedding detail dreams are made of.

Janie and Michael are the sweetest couple. High school sweethearts and I their entire wedding party was filled with friends who have known them for most of their lives! Every detail on their wedding day was perfect, even the Chanel perfume and matching lipstick. But the most epic of the details is the floral archway, created by Blue Jasmine Floral! Between the archway at Mount Saint Mary’s and Natirar’s views, the backdrops were hard to beat!

My first Greek wedding, you guys! Ali and Brad’s wedding was beautiful, and the light pouring into the church was just awe-inspiring. I loved how much color these two used in their  wedding decor from the vibrant red roses at the church to the festive table scapes at Morris County Golf Club. PLUS, they made posing for the camera look flawless, as I basically mimed instructions to them, because I was losing my voice!

Brandy and Mike booked me so long ago! I think we even shot their engagement session almost 18 months before their wedding day! These two had the most perfect fall wedding. Every fall decoration at Skyview Golf Club just accentuated their wedding decor and added to the beautiful rolling hills in full bloom of autumn colors.

Kaitlyn and I worked for the same photo studio in Princeton over a decade together. When she first contacted me, I was booked for her wedding date! So, she changed her date AND her venue so I could make it to her wedding! Maggie, Barb and I stayed overnight near the Catskills so we could spend as much as the day as possible at their wedding. The views in at the Barn at Liberty Farms mixed with peak season fall foliage was breathtaking! Good thing, too, because Barb and Rich spent a lot of time waiting for Kaitlyn to get to the top of the hill to meet her groom!

I love that Ali and Josh have such specific loves! Goats, scenic views and pizza. We never did get the goats, but we certainly got lots of goats and they had the most amazingly elegant pizza accents as part of their wedding decor!

Last wedding of the year…last day of the year! I haven’t ever been to a New Year’s Eve party this epic. A New Year’s Eve Wedding at Natirar?! Yes, please. Lauren and Lucas know how to throw one heck of a party and, how special that they also got to get married in the last few hours of 2019 and dance through 2020?!
