A Sunrise Engagement & Champagne Toast
I may not naturally be a “morning person,” but I love sunrise sessions. I really love them. As much as I dislike dragging myself out of bed before the sun, I dislike working around crowds even more. I typically recommend a sunrise session for two types of sessions: beach sessions and Central Park sessions. Why? Because we are East coast people. That means the sun is rising over the ocean. It also means, no one is on the beach (except the occasional Yogi and ambitious dog-walker). Central Park is the Disney World of the tri-state area, so crowds are inevitable. The morning just minimizes them.
Now Natirar Park, is actually not a problem. We weren’t trying to dodge the crowds at all! We were chasing the sunrise! The two most beautiful times of the day are sunrise and sunset. If I can capture pictures at either (or both) of those times, I am thrilled!
When are schedules weren’t lining up for sunset, I suggested that Alison and Jonathan consider a sunrise session. They didn’t even flinch! A sunrise session sounded great! When I finally met Alison and Jonathan just a matter of weeks before their wedding day, I asked if they were “morning people.”
“Nope.”
They are just naturally joyful people! Guys, we climbed this enormous hill at Natirar before the sun even rose above the trees! That is devotion, and the result was gorgeous lighting and streams of golden light rising overhead. Heck, we were even going to drink champagne before 7am. Life is good!
And it just gets better! Head on over to Alison & Jonathan’s wedding blog at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club for even more gorgeous pictures of the Newlyweds!
