Meg and Will may have had the most perfect day of the fall for their wedding. What is the best day in October for foliage you (or quite frankly every person looking to get iconic fall pictures) asks? I don’t know. No one ever does. In 2022, this was the day. Natirar absolutely glowed gold and red with the leaves and even blessed us with an outrageous sunset.
A few of my favorite highlights from Meg and Will’s wedding.
1. The traditional black-and-white color palette and gentle color selections for the florals. They didn’t try to force fall color palettes with their color schemes – they let the fall come to them, while maintaining the traditional elegance of a black tie wedding.
2. The bows. Not only the unique bow on Meg’s Sareh Nouri dress, but also the complimentary bows on the back of the bridesmaid’s dresses! I’m pretty sure I jumped with excitement when I saw them.
3. Meg and Will share my love of country music. More particularly, Jason Aldean. We basically began and ended the wedding with Jason Aldean. Meg and Will’s priest quoted one of his songs in his sermon. “I got what I got I don’t miss what I had. The old me before you belongs to the past.” Honestly, these words of wisdom are a great way to introduce a couple into the new life they’re forging together as husband and wife! It worked perfectly for their ceremony! Once they were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. into reception, they opened up the dance floor with another Jason Aldean song as their first dance! I’ve been saying for years that a classy girl can absolutely love country music and Meg is living proof.
I always like to know how people met, and I love Meg and Will’s story. A good old fashioned set up. These two were set up by Will’s Aunt, who also happens to be the Mother of the bride’s best friend! I remember them mentioning this to me during their engagement session, but it all came back to me during the Father of the bride’s welcome speech at Natirar. Under a canopy of greens and bistro lights, the ballroom carried the glow of the setting sun into the night with this warm light all night long. The tables, a combination of long and round overflowed with long glowing tapers, surrounded by white and pink roses. The effect is like being in a garden at the height of summer, a beautiful complement to the exuberance of fall color outside.
And we saved the best for last. Will’s brother, also best man, ended his toast welcoming Meg into their family as Will’s sister. A hilarious blunder that gave us some of the best candid photos of the night. I could not have asked for a better way to end Meg and Will’s wedding!
Congratulations, Meg and Will! Your wedding was absolutely stunning, and we are so happy for you!
