A Winter Wedding turned Spring

I knew what I was looking for when I walked into the Park Chateau for Ashley & Kevin’s late March wedding. She had told me all about her grand plans for a winter wedding that turned spring after the wedding ceremony at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart. When I walked into the Park Chateau’s foyer, I was not disappointed! The white orchids and candles set the scene for the perfect winter wedding. Add the snow outside, and it was a winter wonderland!

I met Ashley and Kevin at their impromptu engagement session last fall at the Cross Estate Gardens in Bernardsville.  Living in Vermont made coming to New Jersey a rare occasion, but one last minute trip in November was perfect timing for me to get to know the couple and take their pictures before the big day. Ashley lit up every time she looked at Kevin, and without doing much, Kevin could inspire the sweetest giggles from her. I knew that their chemistry was going to make this wedding such a joyous occasion for all involved.

The first time Kevin saw his bride, she was walking down the long aisle of Newark’s impressive cathedral, but this look between them was one of awe and love. The ceremony was beautiful. This cathedral definitely resonates with my love for architecture and timeless weddings. Once Ashley and Kevin were pronounced husband and wife, their playful chemistry was back in full swing as Kevin escorted his now wife toward the car for a champagne toast.

As we entered the ballroom at the Park Chateau once again, it was completely transformed into a cornucopia of spring decor. All the colors of spring filled the room with flowers and candles. I loved seeing Ashley & Kevin’s reaction as they saw it for the first time.

The ballroom colors dimmed slightly with the setting sun, but the vibrance lasted the entire night as Ashley and Kevin had their first dance as husband and wife, their closest friends and family shared stories about these two extraordinary people, and the night flew by.

We are so honored to have been part of this wedding! Thank you so much to Barbara Wentzel and Kelly Joyce for being part of the team!
