A Beautiful, Blustery Fall Wedding

Saturday greeted us with gorgeous light and glowing trees. I texted Laura, my bride, to wish her a happy wedding day and her response was “mind the wind!” No kidding! It was a super windy day in the 200 acre wood that makes up Natirar Park!

It’s no secret that I have photographed a lot of weddings at Natirar this year (it is one of my absolute favorites!) but there is always something new and so different about each of them!

When Laura drove up to the mansion that morning, she loved the color of the trees lining the driveway and asked if we could do their first look there! It was something so different, and definitely protected us from the wind! Laura’s 1st look expression is absolutely priceless mixed with so much enthusiasm!

Laura and Hunter’s enthusiasm for their wedding day carried them through some pretty blustery winds that caught the veil more times than I can count! The weather was just a tad too chilly for an outdoor ceremony, but Jardiniere set up the solarium beautifully for their indoor ceremony.

The great room had a roaring fire to greet guests as they entered the mansion, and then were escorted into the solarium as the sun was setting over the hill. It was beautiful, but what every family and friend will remember about Laura and Hunter’s ceremony, is when Hunter began his vows as “I, Laura,” as opposed to “I, Hunter.” You’ll see a picture of Hunter, below, showing two fingers for “take two.” It was quite difficult to hold still to photograph this moment while I was shaking with laughter.

We ended the night with some romantic photographs in the green room, with Laura and Hunter each sipping their bourbon, the drink of choice on such a chilly evening!

Before I left, I saw the cart of engraved glasses and Maker’s Mark for each of their guests to take on their way out! Such a fitting gift!

Thank you Laura and Hunter for sharing your amazing wedding day with us! Thank you, Jessica Olivero for being an awesome second shooter, and to Kelly Joyce for assisting!
