When you know, you know! Right? That was certainly true for Emily & Scott!
This weekend, we are kicking off our Spring wedding season with these two and I can hardly wait! I feel like it was just yesterday that I was meeting Emily and Scott in a loud West Village bar. Starbucks had closed early, so we made different plans! We discussed their brand new engagement and decision for an early Spring wedding at Natirar. In reality, it had been pretty recently that all of this planning came together! Emily contacted me just days after Scott’s proposal and that was all just 8 months ago!
Emily thought that she would be meeting Scott’s brother and his new girlfriend for dinner at one of their favorite restaurants in NYC – Fedora. Fedora is where they had their second date, and have continued keeping this restaurant their “go to” for special occasions and fun nights out.
After multiple outfit changes for Emily (guided by Scott despite his nervousness), they were ready to go to brother Glenn’s apartment for a pre-dinner drink. After climbing five flights of stairs to Glenn’s apartment, Scott knocked on the door and to Emily’s confusion, no one was inside.
Scott said, “I don’t know where everyone is but I know that you’re getting engaged!” and got down on one knee and asked Emily to marry him.
The apartment, miraculously spotless, had been decorated with gorgeous flowers (decorated with the help of Scott’s Mom, who is a master gardener!)
Emily said “yes, of course!” and cried hysterically on her knees on the floor…for the next 10 minutes…before they enjoyed some champagne with Scott’s brother. Scott had also arranged for both of their families to be at Fedora for a private dinner with dessert in the garden of the restaurant.
I can only imagine what an amazing day awaits us on Saturday, when these two say “I do.”
Scott mapped out all of our locations in the West Village! I was so impressed!
