Victoria and Neil are high school sweethearts, and last week they tied the knot! When I arrived at the Park Chateau, there was an enlarged photo from their prom, and next to it, a more recent photograph from their engagement session! Now, they need to add their wedding photo to this triptych to complete their story! I love Indian wedding traditions. There’s nothing quite like getting the party started like the Baraat, with vibrant music and dancing to start the festivities! The white Mustang convertible that Neil rode in is the same car that Victoria drove in high school when they met. Victoria was able to borrow back this exact car that she sold years ago for their wedding day!
For Victoria’s details, the beads on her veil are taken directly from Victoria’s late Grandmother’s veil that she wore on her wedding day in 1950. I used this veil for every one of her wedding details! Even the peonies in Victoria’s bouquet are taken directly from her childhood backyard’s peony plant – this plant was passed down for centuries from her grandfathers and is still alive and blooms every year!
To add a pop of color, the mandap was covered in orange roses! They popped against the vibrant blue sky. Of course the sky was blue and the day was gorgeous. My sister reminded me that it never rains on the first Saturday of June. It hasn’t in the past 20 years that I’ve been tracking it. When we were in high school, we held our annual fundraising car wash for the cheerleading team on the first Saturday of June. It never rained.
We had plenty of opportunities to photograph Victoria and Neil. They had two different outfits for the day! Even the wedding party and family members changed for cocktail hour, so it felt like two completely different weddings! Once the reception started, it was a serious party! Neil’s family members had performed their choreographed dances, and Neil and Victoria surprised their guests by jumping into the last dance!
Victoria and Neil, we love you guys! The whole day was one big party and we are so happy to have been a part of it! Congratulations!
