Cara & Adam
Life in the West Village
I’m not big on vacations, as my husband can attest to, but I do love mixing “business with pleasure.” So, a weekend in the city with James, AND a whole bunch of NYC sessions was right up my alley!
We started Saturday morning with Cara and Adam’s engagement session in the West Village. My husband had gone to Stern 11 YEARS AGO (I’m feeling so old right now because I hadn’t really thought about how long ago we graduated…) so he and I walked around his old neighborhood to see how things have changed. A lot has changed, but oddly enough, Papaya Dog still stands.
Cara had so many locations that she absolutely loved, so James and I went on a scavenger hunt to find those locations and choose which would work best for their early morning session.
How did I meet Cara and Adam? It is one of my favorite stories! I was photographing details for an April wedding at Natirar (this one!) while they were touring the place in preparation for their wedding when they saw me setting up some delicious Christian Louboutins. Cara gasped, said how much she loved it and took a picture on her phone! I heard from her the following day and now I get to be part of their big day!
With a fall, country wedding ahead, a big city, spring engagement session was perfect! We explored all that Cara and Adam’s West Village had to offer for amazing portraits and then we headed over to Palma, where I essentially dropped them off in time for their engagement party!
I had so much fun getting to know Cara and Adam and cannot wait for the big day!!
