Sweet Summertime Wedding
I often think to myself, why don’t I write my blog posts the day after the wedding? I have such a great memory of the events as soon as I start uploading the images, and then even a week later they start to fade. That’s when I start writing, forget, revisit the images and remember what took place. Wedding pictures are the best way to jog my memory about each wedding and its moments, so I sure hope they have the same effect on my brides and grooms!
What can I say about Julie and Reece? I didn’t spend too much time with them before their wedding, but I got to know so much about them from their wedding day. When you meet Julie, you feel like you’ve been friends with her for years. She treats everyone like they are so incredibly special to her, which is amazing. She feels everything so deeply, and cried tears of joy several times. From her first look with her Dad, to seeing Reece down in Natirar Park, where he told her to “pull it together” in a most loving a tender way, making Julie (and me) laugh. Julie definitely belly laughs and creates the most infectious joy for those around her, scroll down and you’ll see what I mean.
Summertime weddings mean some pretty intense sun, so we spent some time inside my favorite room inside Natirar, the green room. Jardiniere had decorated the mantel in this room so beautifully, we couldn’t help but to take several portraits there, saving us from some of the summer heat!
I just love handwritten vows. This is where I learn so much about my couples’ relationship. They are the sweetest, and often result in mixed emotions that range from tears to extreme laughter. Julie and Reece’s vows were no exception! Once they were married, we spent some time with what I called the “African sunset,” we don’t always get such a beautiful stream of orange light!
The reception was decorated with barn tables, mixed with round tables, each decorated with wildflowers! They even had their wedding strawberry-rhubarb pie set out for the end of the night. The night fell and the party went wild, for real. We had some super talented dancers AND gymnasts!
At the end of the night, Barb and I couldn’t help but take some pictures of the park below, where the moon was shining on a most foggy park. Just gorgeous!
Congratulations, Julie & Reece! I loved learning so much about you and being part of your amazing wedding. Thank you Barbara Wentzel for your awesome angles and amazing assistance!
