Love & Marriage
Love and marriage…go together like a horse and carriage. Yes, I’ve been singing this classic Frank Sinatra song over and over, ever since writing this title. However annoying that has been, I feel like it is definitely an appropriate title for Carolyn and Taylor’s wedding blog post. Why?
Carolyn and Taylor’s reverend had a most memorable message for the couple entering into marriage. She said “it’s not the most romantic concept,” which may certainly seem true. But, “right now your love sustains your marriage, but hereafter, your marriage will sustain your love.”
Those first days of marriage, even the first few seconds feel like the only thing that matters is the way your heart tells you to feel. Then….you get your rings from your Best Man and realize, they’re not your rings. Yes. That is exactly what happened. Carolyn and Taylor didn’t know whose rings they exchanged, but they weren’t theirs! Scroll down to see the newlyweds waiting out the rain in their Rolls Royce, wearing 4 different wedding bands! Just know that if the Best Man forgets the wedding bands, it’s not the end of the world. You’re still married!
Carolyn did such a wonderful job of creating a most classic and elegant wedding that I think will never feel dated. The epitome of a timeless wedding! Blush and gray tones, with lots of green, and a blusher veil! To add to these perfect details, her Mom surprised her with a piece of her wedding dress wrapped around the base of her bouquet.
After Carolyn and Taylor tied the knot, we headed back to Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club and the skies opened up! This gave us the perfect opportunity to take some indoor pictures with their beautifully decorated entrance hall – something we wouldn’t have done otherwise! Thanks to Barb for the brilliant idea of lighting this scene through the frosted doors! These are some of my favorite Bride and Groom portraits, ever!
Once the skies cleared, we headed outside for the last of the newlywed portraits and then into the party! I don’t think their was a single person still sitting when the dance floor opened up! We ended the night with a sparkler exit, and our happy couple is honeymooning in Bora Bora! I couldn’t be more jealous!
Congratulations, Carolyn and Taylor! I couldn’t have imagined coming home from Greece to a more perfect celebration! We loved being part of your wedding day! Thank you to Barbara Wentzel for being an awesome side-kick!
Carolyn’s Mom surprised her by having a piece of her own wedding gown sewn into Carolyn’s bouquet. It was such a sweet moment!
