Jon & Jen Marry in Bucks County
When Jen and Jon contacted me last year, just weeks after they got engaged, they didn’t know when or where they were getting married! Jon was a groomsman in Hilary and Jake’s wedding the previous spring, remembered working with us, and wanted us to photograph their wedding! Could their be any greater compliment?! This was a perfect opportunity to make sure I was available for their date, and able to create an ideal timeline for their summer wedding. In the weeks following they chose a venue along the Delaware River, Pen Ryn Estate’s Belle Voir Manor.
I’ve loved every minute of learning about Jon and Jen’s relationship, their love for Easton Wine Project, and how much they genuinely adore each other! I first met up with them at Easton Wine Project, a very cool urban winery in the heart of Easton, last November in the freezing cold. We had hot hands to keep us warm, and they even sent me home with a bottle of their favorite red wine. Hello ideal LKP Couple! Seriously, this is how solid foundations of friendships begin!
Fast forward 7 months, and we are in the thick of a hot, humid summer day, surrounded by lush greens and the most beautiful views. We arrived at Belle Voir Manor in the afternoon, and quickly got Jen dressed before Jon and the groomsmen arrived. Jen had beautiful details, blue accents, and was her own florist! I am still so impressed. Not only did the bouquets, details, center pieces, and signs look amazing, but Jen made her DIY abilities look easy! There was no fuss on her wedding day, everything was already set up, and I could just imagine that she took joy in every bloom that made it’s way into her and the bridemaids’ bouquets.
My favorite part of the day? Tricky, but I’m gonna go with ceremony. Sometimes I’m at the front of the alter when the bride walks down the aisle, I actually prefer being at the back of the aisle! I just love seeing the bride off to meet her soon-to-be husband. It’s one of the most emotional moments of the day, and this one was emotional! By the time Jen met Jon at the front of the alter, the Pastor asked “Are you two going to cry through the whole thing?” Not so secretly, we love tears. Tears of joy, of course, but I just love capturing emotional moments!
We breezed through portraits of Jon and Jen and their fun bridal party, and took portrait after portrait as we wandered around Pen Ryn’s property. It’s not hard to get great pictures of these two. Jon could not stop from kissing his wife, and we couldn’t help but to capture all of it. We even managed to get them back outside during reception, in the midst of unexpected rain (note: Jon is holding my strobe umbrella because it wasn’t supposed to rain! We didn’t have anything else!)
Jon and Jen, we love you guys! Your love for each other and willingness to let us create and capture all day long was amazing! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us! I hope you’re having a great time in St. Lucia! Thank you Barbara Wentzel for being an awesome assistant as usual!
