A Timeless Summer Wedding at Natirar
I think it’s fair to say that the tone of any wedding day is set in the wedding suite. I don’t usually know what that tone is for the groomsmen (sometimes thats a big surprise!), but I do know what it is for the bridal party. Romy got ready in the Natirar bridal suite with her Mom, mother in law and sister, and it so reminded me of getting ready on my wedding day! While I love a great group of energetic girls before a wedding, it was so peaceful and sentimental to have Romy’s closest women by her side getting ready for the most important day of her life. The pictures of Mom and sister, Sophie, helping her into her dress are precious, joyful and so timeless!
On the other end of the hill was Brian, his Dad and brother were helping him to get ready. Based on Anne’s pictures of these moments, these boys clearly have a bond that made those moments equally special.
Weather? What about it? It was hot. Really hot. I left one camera outside, and one inside so we could quickly take portraits without wasting time waiting for my equipment to warm up and de-fog! Weather is a funny thing. Rarely, is it ideal. If it’s ideal temperature wise, it’s probably raining. It’s either too hot or too cold, but even though Romy and Brian’s wedding was less than a week ago, I’ve already forgotten the extreme heat. The genuine moments of joy, and Brian doting over Romy are what I remember. Brian, may forever remember the heat with one epic photograph…because I had to take it. Scroll down to find the photo of Brian “drying off.” These are moments that must be preserved!
When it came to the ceremony, my Outlander loving heart sang. Romy’s family is from Scotland, so they made sure to have a traditional Scottish ceremony in the mix, complete with bag pipes and tying the knot in their “tartans.” Brian’s tartan, of course, was American, which I loved! Their officiant, a family friend, explained how important marriage was to Romy and Brian, with their parents having been married a combined 77 years.
The surprises kept coming, after Romy and Brian cut their cake, Brian surprised his bride by singing to her! Can you just see it? Them telling their children the story of their wedding day over and over? Because I totally can.
Romy and Brian, we just loved being part of your wedding day, your joy is contagious and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you together! Thank you Anne for your awesome assistance and second shooting!
