Classic Venue meets Modern Couple
It’s amazing to me that a venue can be transformed as much as Natirar was on Saturday. I thought I was walking into the mansion, but really I was walking into a real live Jumanji! David Mitchell’s displays were in the beginning stages of assembly and the palms, stones, and sprawling foliage covered the entire ballroom.
To compliment the theme that was coming together, Rachel and Will collected interesting looking rocks from the beaches of Maine. Rachel used to collect rocks when she summered in Maine as a little kid, and wanted to incorporate them into her details! The complimented her invitation suite so well! If you look closely at the top of their invitation, you’ll see a little emblem with green and blue stones. This design is an original of Will’s. He designed Rachel’s engagement ring, and Rachel loved it so much, she decided to use it as the anchor for the rest of the wedding decor!
Once we were ready to go outside, I was so thrilled to see that Rachel and Will had parasols! I really feel strongly that these need to be at every summer wedding! They gave us the ability to take pictures outside in some pretty harsh sunlight, by casting a soft shade over their faces! This is something I ordinarily can’t do in intense sunlight! Not only were they practical, but they fit in so well with Rachel and Will’s organic and natural theme.
While the ceremony had to be held inside, the solarium was completely transformed with greenery, as Rachel and Will exchanged their vows with their closest family and friends (from all over the world!) Rachel and Will wrote their own vows, and I love how practical they are! Rachel started out by saying “I don’t believe in love at first sight – that’s illogical,” however she followed that up with having “casually mentioned” to her friends she would marry him, after only a week of knowing Will.
We braved the outdoors once more as the sun set to get some pictures with the lanterns that decorated the entire cliff! What a way to switch up this view! We photographed them through all parts of the day, even up to the very last moment before we left for the night.
Rachel and Will, we loved being part of your special day! Your enthusiasm for life and each other is felt by everyone who surrounds you! Thank you to Barbara Wentzel for your amazing assistance, as always!
