A New York Estate Engagement Session

Our first engagement session since quarantine and it was so good! I’ve known Kasia since she was 16 years old, when she and her sisters hired me to photograph their new line of activewear for their company Ziane Active.

I was so excited when Kasia announced her engagement to Jimmy! They are getting married at the Westmount Country Club in September 2021.

When it came to choosing a location for Kasia and Jimmy’s engagement session, I knew we were looking for something romantic and elegant, with a grand estate vibe for their engagement photos. We originally had our hearts set on Skyland’s Manor, but since the venue is still closed for photo sessions, we pivoted and found Wainwright House in Rye, New York. This venue is worth the drive! This grand estate is located along the Long Island sound, and has a waterfront view from across the Milton Harbor. And when I say we “pivoted,” I mean, we got the call that we were good to shoot there just 3 hours before our session began! We had decided that Central Park might be a last resort for the vision Kasia and Jimmy had for their elegant engagement session. However, these two were completely on board once we got the green light for this private estate.

Having grown up in front of the camera, Kasia is a natural. I’m just so thrilled she picked a fiance who is also a natural, these two look amazing together! Not only do they work so well together, they made a very hot day with tons of mosquitos look non-existent! Although this engagement session was right on the water, there was no breeze! Thanks for being such troopers, Kasia and Jimmy! I am so looking forward to your wedding next fall!
