Sunset Engagement in Newport

Last week, we (my husband came too!) spent the weekend in Newport, RI! There we met Laura and Mike for their sunset engagement session along the cliff walk in Newport. To say this session was a check off my bucket list is an understatement! So when Laura told me she currently lives outside of Newport, I was super excited to travel for their engagement pictures!

As I was driving up to Newport, I was checking the weather to determine which of the 3 nights I was staying in town would be perfect for their engagement session. It seemed like the first night there was going to be perfect (and that sunset glow did not disappoint)! The mid-summer hazy light coming off the Atlantic was the perfect backdrop for Laura and Mike’s session. The wind may have been a little much, hello hair in the face! But, that’s the best part of traveling for a session! We had three days to spend in Newport! The next day we were blessed with another beautiful evening. So, we headed to Bellevue Avenue where the hydrangeas were showing off!

The cliffs overlooking the ocean in Newport are stunning…and fierce. I was totally mesmerized by the crashing of waves along the huge rocks, and the wind! With her insider info, Laura had some great places scouted out for pictures. Laura and Mike are such naturals in front of the camera. I was constantly telling them to “freeze” and “do that again” because Mike kept stealing little forehead kisses and naturally “knuzzling!” Laura is a very talented photographer herself, and I am honored that she and Mike have entrusted me to photograph this special time in their lives!

I can’t wait to celebrate with them on the big day at The Ryland Inn this coming September!
