New Jersey Backyard Minimony
This has been the year of “pivot,” but I am so happy to have wonderful clients who can do just that and make getting married a wonderfully memorable experience! Taara and Shao had grand plans of a two-day wedding over fourth of July weekend, which was turned upside down. With two other 2020 back up plans, it became clear that the coronavirus was going to make this impossible for family and friends to travel from all over the world. Instead, they emailed me and said “I think we’re going to get married on August 15th.”
A simple, and beautiful, low key wedding in Taara’s parent’s backyard in Basking Ridge was the perfect place for these two to tie the knot. The yard was set up beautifully with bright colored florals from Jardiniere Fine Flowers, and truly lit up the landscape! Instead of a traditional bouquet, Taara wore a beautiful corsage. When we arrived, Taara and Shao were hanging out, getting the place ready for their 20+ guests. So, we started with portraits of the two of them, and when the family arrived, we got everyone into the pictures. Once everyone had gotten a drink, they announced “I think it’s time!” and the ceremony began. Taara and her parents backed away from the group to create an “aisle” like entrance, and Taara was all smiles. At one point, Taara’s Mom leaned in and kissed her cheek and then Taara’s smiles turned to tears of joy! It was the sweetest thing!
Taara and Shao had their closest friend, Tim, marry them, with everyone circled around them, witnessing the beautiful and long waited event. Now married, Taara and Shao poured champagne and toasted to their guests! For appetizers and dinner, Taara and Shao had their favorite restaurant cater, a mix of Indian and middle eastern food that was delicious! For fun, they had corn hole set up, and music playing.
There is so much more to come next year, and I cannot wait! Taara and Shao, you are such a beautiful couple, and we are so excited for more celebrations to come! Thank you Kelly Joyce for your awesome assistance!
