Summer Sunrise Engagement in Bethesda Terrace

Steff and Evan’s relationship has taken them all over the east coast! From Penn State, where they met, to Boston, where they got engaged, to New York City, where we met for their engagement session. Steff’s family is from NJ, and that’s exactly where they’ll be tying the knot next year!

When Steff mentioned wanting a cool spot for her engagement session, we had plenty of options to choose from. But really, what’s cooler than seeing Central Park completely empty? The truth is that Bethesda Terrace is a great place for engagement pictures on Sunday at dawn! Why? Because New Yorkers are not up that early on a Sunday. Add a global pandemic into the mix, and the park is downright abandoned! Therefore, the only company we had, were the turtles. Somehow these creatures survive life in that exotic green lagoon around the Central Park Boathouse. And they’re quite active!

I know that the first 10 minutes of every engagement session is going to be a bit awkward. In some cases, I scrap some of the pictures, because I want my couples to get used to the camera! This was not the case with Steff and Evan. I think their very first picture, is one of my favorites! From giggle kisses to Blue Steel, these two nailed every pose, and candid moment. No one is supposed to nail a candid moment, by the way!
