A Garden Party Wedding at The Philadelphia Cricket Club
When I asked Lauren to describe to me the inspiration for her wedding, I got a full breakdown of every meaningful decision made. I mean, every meaningful decision! In fact, there wasn’t any part of Lauren and Nick’s wedding that didn’t have some sentimental ties to them. Everywhere I turned, I recognized some other detail that Lauren had described to me. Her borrowed jewelry, her 100 year old veil, the 250 year old Kiddish cup and the list goes on. I can just see these traditions carrying on for her children some day. Even the color scheme, garden theme and decor were inspired by their engagement. Nick proposed to Lauren in Paris, before they headed to Dublin for a week after. Lauren and Nick fell in love with the pale grey skies and endless rolling hills of Ireland, and wanted that same feel for their wedding day. The Philadelphia Cricket Club offers all of those beautiful details, and it’s where Lauren’s parents had their wedding reception three decades prior! Philadelphia Cricket Club weddings are becoming a family tradition!
Lauren and Nick saw each other for the first time as Lauren came down the aisle. They got married under the Chuppah, where both Rabbi and Priest performed the wedding ceremony of this mixed tradition wedding. Once they were married, the guests enjoyed a garden styled cocktail hour and Lauren and Nick took pictures with loved ones! Before being introduced onto the dance floor, we snuck the newlyweds outside for some portraits of just the two of them.
Lauren loved ballroom dancing, and Nick quickly caught on to dancing as well. They’re first dance was stunning and could have been up for competition at Dancing with the Stars! Following their first dance was the hora and I just love Lauren’s expression as she was hoisted up in the air on her chair!
The rest of the night was full of dancing and laughter, and a competition between which part of NJ is the best – North or South. The world may never know! However, based on Lauren and Nick’s wedding, the combination of traditions, and a room full of North Jersey and South Jersey – I have to say the state is better together.
Congratulations again, Lauren and Nick! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful wedding day with us and letting us capture every wonderful moment!
