A Weekend Wedding Celebration
The one thing that was really important to Palak and Mike was to have an Indian wedding ceremony. These tend to be early and the morning and are pretty long! I absolutely love the energy that comes with the opening ceremony, the Baraat, and Mike came riding in on a white horse with music blasting! It was 9:30am, but it was a party nonetheless. By the time the ceremony was over, it was time for luncheon! Knowing it would be a long day to combine their ceremonies, they decided to split up the celebration over two days to fully celebrate all weekend! Some of Palak and Mike’s favorite weddings were the ones they attended for a full weekend, so that’s exactly what they had planned for their family and friends as well.
The first ceremony at The Grove had everyone in vibrant colors and traditional Indian dress. Palak and her mom made a trip to India in January 2020 to shop for everything she would need for her Indian ceremony – her dress, invitations, jewelry, and everyone’s attire. Had they waited to make the trip, it never would have happened! The next day’s celebration at the Mansion at Natirar boasted soft greens and dusty blues. The actual flower schemes themselves hadn’t changed from one day to the next, but the attire did and it worked beautifully for both events!
Palak and Mike had a very large wedding party, and we had so much fun with them! Barb Wentzel took control over the organization and layout of this magazine quality spread of wedding party portraits! I just love them!
To contrast a long ceremony the day before, the second day ceremony was quick and officiated by their close friend, Joe! The ceremony was followed by cocktail hour and a great dance party by EBE Talent’s band, Paris! Palak and Mike had the most beautiful choreographed dance and every lady from Aunts to nieces lined up to take a twirl with Mike as he showed them the steps!
In contrast to a rainy forecast the day before, Palak and Mike’s Natirar wedding ended with the most beautiful sunset! We took one more twirl overlooking the park below before heading back onto the dance floor! What an amazing night!
Congratulations, Palak and Mike! We loved spending the entire weekend celebrating the two of you with your family and friends! Have the best time in the Maldives!
