A Wedding Somewhere In Time
I love weddings that cast a timeless elegance across the day. Achieving timeless elegance takes careful planning. Details should be decided with absolute discernment – nothing can intrude into the overall effect, or you end up losing that sense of permanency and grace that come together in the timelessly elegant wedding. Jessica and Frank selected their details particularly well, so I have to take a few moments to point them out, how my wonderful team captured them, and the overall impression they leave!
Jessica has a gift for seeing beauty in the details! While I love many details from their wedding, my favorites are probably Jessica’s cape – so beautifully figured and finely detailed! It was heavy, but worth the wear. Scroll down to my favorite photograph of Jessica coming down the aisle in the church, with her cape and veil at full-length!
One of Fiddler’s Elbow’s most outstanding features is its floating, semi-circular staircase, which ascends in a semi-circle to the second floor. I’ve been waiting for someone to do something that shows-off this staircase to full advantage, and Jessica and her florist [Peonies to Paintchips] have set the bar here. Note how the white roses cascade downward and get fuller until only a glimpse of the last step remains and the petals spill onto the floor. It’s dramatic and exceptionally well done, providing the perfect setting for the bride and her bridesmaids. And notice, as you scroll through the photographs, that absolutely nothing breaks the spell of timelessness! My hope is always that my couple’s photographs will endure for generations.
Ultimately, what I love most about Jessica and Frank’s details is what they tell us about them. This couple plans, which is, in large part, what marriage is about. This couple loves – notice the beautiful couples portraits taken from the back of the Fiddler’s Elbow clubhouse – it’s impossible to reproduce moments like these without genuine adoration, and joy. They honor and value tradition – their cake topper was on Jessica’s Parents’ wedding cake, and Jessica wore a pearl necklace passed down through three generations of her family.
I feel such a part of my couple’s wedding days that I end up feeling a great deal of pride when they’re done…of course, it’s borrowed pride, because I didn’t plan the beautiful details or the elegant setting, I just helped freeze them in time. Jessica and Frank, congratulations on your marriage and your absolutely beautiful wedding!
