A Long Awaited Summer Wedding at Hamilton Farm

One of the things I love most about wedding photography is how two weddings composed of similar elements can end up looking completely different.  Last weekend, I photographed Rachel and Franco’s wedding at Hamilton Farm.  You may have noticed that this was my second wedding at Hamilton Farm in as many weeks (no complaints here! Its a favorite!)  So, you have the same (gorgeous) venue on two August weekends, with two beautiful and totally different styles.

At Rachel and Franco’s wedding, we took a different approach to the outdoor portraits.  Rachel loves the ivy walls framing the terrace, so we chose this location for their first look! This isn’t always possible on sunny days, because this area is in direct sun!  The lushness of Hamilton Farm’s mature landscape is always beautiful, but in Rachel and Franco’s portraits, it achieves an other-worldliness.  My favorite photographs are from their first look – Rachel coming through the iron gateway with the mass of green vines overhead – Franco in the foreground with Rachel approaching along the garden path – the couple beginning their embrace in the garden with a backdrop of deep-green ivy.  The peace and beauty of this scene is difficult to replicate on a wedding day full of activity, but it came together perfectly for Rachel and Franco. That may have something to do with the way these two absolutely melt together! Franco is always kissing Rachel’s forehead or neck (where he won’t mess up makeup!)

Of course, I have to mention the Prosecco Van [Bubble Bros]!  A super cute and fun idea diversion amid the elegance of the day.  Like so many weddings this year, Rachel and Franco’s wedding was a postponement, and I also photographed their beautiful backyard ceremony in 2020.  If you glance back at those photographs, note Rachel’s beautiful dress and the intimacy of the gathered friends and family. This year was all about the celebration and party – hence their hashtag #BarrioParty. I was so honored to be a part of both days! Congratulations to my beautiful bride and groom! Rachel and Franco, your wedding was a pure, classic beauty, and we loved celebrating all of it with you!
