A Summer Wedding on Long Island

Lauren and Brian’s wedding took my team to Long Island and the Huntington Crescent Club.  I love Long Island for the same reasons that make the estates of Northern New Jersey such great wedding venues – the mature landscape, particularly at the full height of summer after thunderstorms have left everything lush and green, makes for a spectacular backdrop to wedding photographs!  I’ve also been lucky this year to have a string of fantastic wedding days, where the weather brought drama in spades. A great example of this is can be seen in this wedding! Lauren and Brian are a super-fun couple, and their day wasn’t all high-drama, despite the awesome display the weather put on or the elegant venue. As you scroll through the photographs, you’ll see all the hallmarks of an elegant wedding day – beautiful jewelry and clothes, pure white flowers, Dom Perignon Champagne, and then…boom…Bud Light!  Now, I have nothing against Bud Light, but it doesn’t often make a major appearance in my weddings, but Lauren and Brian (ok, Brian) wore it proud – check out the getting ready photos and the Bud Light station (complete with cooler) in the reception photographs – fantastic!!

If you’ve read any of my wedding stories before, you might notice a theme. I love the beauty and the elegance of each wedding day, but I love my couples more – I love their stories.  Lauren and Brian met through a friend during college (they went to different schools), and they got engaged on the beach during a gale.  Does knowing that about them change how you see them?  Do you see a carefree couple that powers through what life (or the weather) throws in their way to achieve their dreams?  Do you see how Bud Light made a guest appearance in their champagne wedding?  Lauren and Brian, you two are so much fun and your wedding was awesome!  I know you have a wonderful life ahead!
