A Classic and Fun Summer Wedding
I may be partial, but I think it’s easy to see why I had so much difficulty pairing down the “sneak peeks” from Jamie and Kevin’s big wedding last Saturday! Not only are these two incredibly adorable and adoring with each other, their details were just as fun as they are! Last year, we witnessed their intimate wedding at what would have been Jamie and Kevin’s rehearsal dinner at Ninety Acres, which you can find HERE. So their wedding last weekend was a reunion – and it felt like a family reunion for us as well!
Another perfect Natirar day among my weddings this year, Jamie and Kevin were so fortunate! At Natirar, as with many estate settings, you actually want the day to be a little overcast for mid-day portraits. Sure it was a little hot and humid, but the overcast sky gives the perfect full softbox light without making the photographer (me!) fight glare and harsh shadows, maximizing all our favorite locations!
I know Jamie and Kevin love Natirar, (see their invitation among the detail photographs), so we incorporated the mansion into our portraits whenever possible. Jamie had her heart set on the famous Natirar gate for portraits, so we set up their first look on the front lawn to the right of the mansion. As Jamie reached down to grab as much dress as her little arms could carry, she looked at me and said “I ugly cry.” And with that, I was prepared for what would be a sweet and emotional first look!
I am so thrilled when we can get the full set of classic wedding portraits – including the classic veil photos – done before the “I dos!” Jamie is 100% a “Lauren Kearns Bride” and wanted all the classic and iconic Natirar photos! I love her! Unbeknownst to Kevin, that meant flipping the veil over the both of them in already warm conditions! He loves Jamie so much, he didn’t even complain! It certainly gets hot under there!
Jamie and Kevin are so much fun, such wonderful people – I think you can clearly see their joy throughout the pictures! FUN Jamie and Kevin definitely came alive in spades once they hit the dance floor! I don’t often write about dancing photographs, but Jamie’s and Kevin’s dance party completely captured the spirit of their day, with a jump-rope made of napkins (yes, that’s Jamie jumping!), and Jamie’s sister singing (with her band, Lion and Tiger Band), glow sticks and blow-up guitars, and even a flying bride and groom!
Jamie and Kevin, a special thank you for making me a part of both your wedding days! I know I will never forget your epic wedding day, and hope the beautiful memories these days created will be recounted through generations of your family.
