Lauren and Jack first met each other at Lafayette College, and this would prove to be a special place for them and their story! I first met these two at Lafayette, where they wanted to take engagement pictures. It is not only a very meaningful place to them, but also a beautiful campus! What a great backdrop for their photos! I think the only place that could top such a beautiful landscape is Natirar – the place they fell in love with for their wedding reception.
When I arrived at the bridal suite at Natirar, Lauren was just finishing up her hair and makeup and the bridesmaids were hanging out in their matching blue pajamas. Laughter, lounging and sipping on champagne – I knew we had a fun group of girls ready to get Lauren married! Lauren had mentioned to me that she loved the color blue and that all the details would be blue! I can be quite difficult to balance just one prominent color scheme – but Lauren absolutely pulled it off! The invitation suite, with its watercolor flowers, and deep navy ribbon, and custom ring box pulled all the details together flawlessly. One of my favorite details were her delicate silk flower hair clips. Such a subtle detail for Lauren’s hair that added the slightest bit of detail to her modern fitted dress and traditional flowing veil.
With an overcast day – the best for the Natirar views – we were able to capture all of the pictures of the bridesmaids outside before we left for the church. Our Lady of Perpetual Help is one of my favorite Catholic churches. It is quite a unique design inside and out, but is also very tiny. One of my favorite photos is Lauren waiting outside with her bridesmaids waiting for the ceremony to begin. Together, Lauren and Jack have quite a few nephews and one niece, who all took part in the wedding ceremony. While, Eleanor, only two, was thrilled to see Aunt Lauren before she walked down the aisle, she was less than thrilled when her Mom (also a bridesmaid) went down the aisle without her. These are the unplanned memories that really make wonderful stories years later! She cried and cried until she was reunited with Mom. With a quick wedding ceremony, we were off to Natirar with the newlyweds to capture their first portraits as husband and wife before cocktail hour began.
We were able to take all of the portraits overlooking Natirar Park in its peak fall color glory. Even the ivy climbing up the walls of Natirar were changing and it was quite picturesque! Lauren and Jack got to enjoy every moment of their cocktail hour, and once the dance party started it didn’t stop! I don’t think I’ve ever seen an entire room get up onto the dance floor, but they did for Lauren and Jack! We danced the night away!
Congratulations, Lauren and Jack! We are so happy for you! Thank you for making us part of your beautiful wedding day!
