Amy and Sunny may have had a tiny set back in their wedding plans for 2021, but it only made the wedding weekend even better! When I first spoke with Amy and Sunny, they had planned for one large wedding day with two ceremonies. However, as their planning came into focus, they decided to break up their traditions into a full wedding weekend. What was supposed to take place in June, moved slightly to the fall season and they had a gorgeous wedding weekend at the tail end of the beautiful fall colors. When planning their wedding, they wanted the venue to set the tone for the day, and when they found Natirar, with it’s rustic but modern elegance, they knew it was perfect.

We began on Saturday with the Indian ceremony at the Hyatt Regency in Morristown. Amy had all of her details ready to be photographed and was so excited to show me her henna on her hands and feet. The detail is amazing, and on her feet, she had a picture of her dog, Peyton, and the other an ice cream cone. What more do you need in life? The details in Amy’s hand sewn dress were equally amazing. The weight of her skirt alone was 14 lbs. with all of those beads!

I’ve photographed a few Indian ceremonies before and I love watching all of the different rituals that take place. The ceremony isn’t just about the bride and the groom, but the families coming together, and partaking in all that is happening as well. And let’s not forget about how colorful these ceremonies are. Amy and Sunny definitely brought autumn to life with their colorful mandap!

After the morning’s ceremony, I came back for the Sangeet that night and photographed all of the various dances. Amy began her dance with Sunny, followed by their parents dance, their families and then both Amy and Sunny’s friends. I am super impressed with their dancing skills and the commitment level of all their family and friends!

The next day was a crisp autumn day at Natirar. Amy and Sunny carried on the vibrant color theme into the next day, and the backdrop behind Natirar enhanced the overall feel of the day. Amy did not have a bridal party, but instead kept the weekend intimate with her family – her Mom, Mother-in-law and future sister-in-law. They all helped each other get ready for both days, even their sweetheart table consisted of just their immediate family. Amy had a couple of first looks – with her friends, her Dad and of course, with Sunny. With daylight savings ended, we photographed the couple and family all before their ceremony and just before they exchanged rings at their ceremony, the brilliant sunset cast a warm glow over the horizon. Talk about a grand finale for an epic wedding weekend!

I have to say I am very impressed with not only Amy and Sunny’s planning of this two day wedding weekend, but also their choreography commitment. They had yet another choreographed dance for their second wedding reception. Not so secretly, I love choreographed first dances! Nothing shows off a wedding dress quite like a twirl, and there were plenty in Amy and Sunny’s first dance!

We ended the night beneath both of Natirar’s beautifully decorated mantels by Jardiniere. I couldn’t decide which I loved better, so of course, I had to capture both.

Amy and Sunny, you are such a beautiful couple inside and out! We are so happy for you and so honored to have been able to capture your beautiful wedding! Congratulations!
