A Classic Spring Wedding at Fiddler’s Elbow

Is there anything sweeter than two people in love? The only thing sweeter, is two people in love on their wedding day. In every picture I have of Colleen and Ilya together, it’s like the outside world fades away. Ilya spent the entire day either staring lovingly or kissing his beautiful wife. He was completely blown away by Colleen during their first look.

One of my favorite locations at Fiddler’s Elbow is right out the back door off the entry way. Often it’s too bright and sunny in that location to use! With some overcast for their wedding day, it was the perfect location for Ilya to first see his bride! As the clouds parted, they were bathed in golden light streams on the bridge that connects the estate to the golf course. This bridge always reminds me of Cinderella. Fitting for this fairytale wedding!

Although shifting rain threatened their outdoor ceremony, we quickly switched gears to have their ceremony on the patio, under the awning. After their ceremony, they enjoyed cocktail hour while we photographed their beautiful ballroom. The classic black tuxedos and black bridesmaid’s dresses complimented the soft blush and whites of the flowers overflowing throughout Fiddler’s rooms.

Right after their first dance, the setting sun peeped through the dark clouds and we had the most epic sunset portraits overlooking the rolling Somerset Hills. Colleen’s dress stayed unbustled for the entire reception, which I love because I have so many opportunities to see the train and its beading detail! Also, the beading was heavy! I’m afraid if we did bustle her, she might fall over! To make dancing easier, Colleen switched out of her wedding dress into her party dress! Complete with gloves! I have to say, Colleen’s party dress is an all-time favorite!

We left the reception with a full party on the dance floor and Colleen and Ilya danced the night away!
