Americana Wedding Day at Natirar
Cristin & Sean’s wedding day boasted a blend of two personalities. Their every day adventures came together into one beautifully timeless wedding at Natirar. How could incorporating their love of the city life and sports bars, specifically during football season; with the sentimental performance of “God Bless America,” complete with American flags for all, create such an elegant wedding day? On the surface, it sounds impossible, but in reality, it was gorgeous. More importantly, it was Cristin and Sean.
When I arrived at Natirar, the girls were all seated around the brightly lit solarium on one of the most beautiful days of the year! The summer humidity had all but dried up and the promise of cooler evenings hung in the early fall air from the night before. With all her details organized into one “BRIDE” tote ready for me to photograph, the day started off seamlessly! I always ask my brides what their color scheme is so I can prepare with the perfect backdrop for their invitation suite that will tie in with all the details of the day. Cristin and Sean’s invitation suite was a beautiful cream with gold trimming. Perhaps not out of the ordinary, but it was so flawlessly conmplimented by the cream colored Jimmy Choo platform heels and her warm-toned wedding dress. In with her details was a Baccarat butterfly in memory of Cristin’s grandmother.
Cristin and Sean’s ceremony took place at The Church of Christ the King in New Vernon, which is one of my favorites! A special place for Cristin and Sean as well, they met with their Priest over five times in preparation for the big day. This was also a big day for their Priest! This was his first time officiating a wedding ceremony! The guests were serenaded into church by a family friend who played the bagpipes, one of Cristin’s favorite wedding traditions! Guests came from every corner of the country to celebrate these two.
After the ceremony, guests were transported to Natirar where they were greeted by the impressive limestone foyer and a choice to make – sign the Chiefs or Giants football. I loved this creative personal touch that Sean and Cristin used for their guest book!
The ballroom was decked out in white florals and greenery hanging from the ceiling, complete with bistro lights hanging over the dance floor. Each table number included a special place or name that incorporated Cristin and Sean’s NYC life into the mix. To entertain their guests, Cafe Wha played a set list of all decades of music that Cristin and Sean had enjoyed while seeing them play in the Village over the past couple of years. At the end of the night, the couple requested a dedication to Cristin’s Grandmother, “God Bless America,” while all the guests waved American flags and sang along.
The guests left the celebration with a pork roll, egg and cheese in hand, having fully experienced the perfect Americana wedding day! Congratulations, Cristin and Sean! We loved every moment of your day and so thrilled to have been part of it!
