It’s the classic football player falls for cheerleader story that ends in a happily ever after. According to Luke, he’s had a crush on Keri since 8th grade. The admiration he had for Keri all those years ago has only evolved into the love he has for her today.

When I arrived to Fiddler’s Elbow last Friday, Luke and his brother were practicing their bow tying, and Luke had personalized engraved highball glasses filled with Jameson, a cigar and socks for each of his groomsmen. What more does a guy need?

The girls were in full prep mode with every hair and makeup chair taken, the rain outside was still falling. All the details were neatly organized into a bride box, complete with Keri’s wax seals, extra ribbon and her perfume, inscribed with her wedding date! Her shoes were her “something borrowed” from her sister-in-law and I am still impressed with how well they have held up! Keri’s 9 month old niece was prepping with the girls, wearing her little white dress and booties that had once belonged to Keri!

The rain decided to give us a break for all of Keri and Luke’s portraits, beginning with the first look. The only waterworks we had were Luke’s tears of joy. Even before he saw her, he started to tear up. With his friends leaning out the upstairs windows above, Luke shouted “that’s my wife!” And continued telling everyone all day long.

After finding a remote area in the front of Fiddler’s Elbow, Keri and Luke read their notes to each other. Instead of reading their vows out loud, they chose to share their letters to each other in private. I love when couples decide to have this moment together! The day is filled with family and friends and celebration, but it’s also wonderful to remember the quiet moments of the day, when they get to be alone.

On the flip side, Luke has a great group of fun friends. Photos aren’t always the highlight for the groom or groomsmen, but Luke and his friends loved every moment. When they asked if they could do a jump, I knew they were having a great time. They’re jumping shot is one for the books.

With impending rain and lightning heading our way, the ballroom was set up for the ceremony. Fortunately, Keri’s decor of white and silver was only enhanced by the ballroom’s natural stone and silver carpet. The guests were still able to enjoy the views of Fiddler’s golf course from the comfort of the indoors as the rain came down. And what better way to start your wedding ceremony, than a little cherub in a white wagon being strolled down the aisle? Luke’s friend, Carson, officiated the ceremony, and once again, Luke rejoiced “that’s my wife!” as he processed down the aisle, Keri’s hand in his.

Right from their entrance into reception, I knew it was going to be a fun party! Having grown up all together, Keri maids of honor, and Luke’s best men (his brothers) were able to light up the room with stories about Keri and Luke together.

We may not have had a sunset, but we had a wonderful twilight for Keri and Luke’s sparkler exit! We were even able to take advantage of the views overlooking Fiddler’s Elbow’s golf course, contrasted with the warm glow of the sparklers. Immediately afterward, we chased after the newlyweds onto the dance floor, which they never left. They were having the time of their lives, and it’s only just the beginning!

Congratulations, again, Keri & Luke! It was such an honor to be part of your wedding day and we are thrilled to have been a small part of it!
