Newport Estate Engagement Session

Newport, with its timeless charm and coastal beauty, is a dream destination for engagement sessions. As a frequent Newport photographer, I have had the pleasure of capturing love stories in some of the most picturesque locations, from the historic estates to the stunning shores. One of my favorite sessions to date was with Marea and John, whose engagement session perfectly encapsulated the elegance and romance that Newport has to offer!

The Perfect Proposal at Del Mar Beach

Before we dive into their stunning Newport engagement session, it’s worth sharing the magical proposal story that brought us to this day. John and Marea’s love story began to blossom when they discovered Del Mar Beach in San Diego during a month-long stay together in 2021. This beautiful beach quickly became their special place, filled with cherished memories and sunsets. It was only fitting that John chose this spot to propose, creating a moment that felt straight out of a fairytale.

John meticulously planned every detail of the proposal. He even filed for a permit with the town to ensure he could propose right on the beach. With a heartfelt speech memorized, John got down on one knee as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink.

An Elegant Estate Engagement Session in Newport

Inspired by their love for timeless elegance and the Newport mansions, Marea and John chose some of the most iconic estates for their engagement session. We began the session at one of Newport’s grand estates, Ochre Court, capturing the couple amid the alley of trees and historic architecture. The estate’s classic charm provided a perfect backdrop for their sophisticated style, fun champagne toast and custom newspaper announcing the couple’s proposal, engagement and upcoming wedding!

As a Newport photographer, I always strive to blend the natural beauty of the location with the unique personalities and love stories of my clients. With Marea and John, it was effortless. Their genuine connection and joy made the hours fly by with only the setting sun to hurry us along as we met up at our final destination, Castle Hill Inn.

With Aperol Spritz in hand, and Adirondack chairs secure on Castle Hill’s lawn, the rugged coastline and stunning lighthouse in the distance added a touch of Newport’s maritime charm. The golden light of the setting sun created a magical atmosphere that was simply unforgettable!

In one year we will celebrate these two getting married at Rosecliff and I know it’s going to be just as epic and even more joyful!
