Classic Winter Bride
It’s been a while since I’ve updated my blog, but I really did enjoy my mid-winter hiatus. Today, though, I am clearing the cobwebs off of my blog with my first 2019 wedding!
I’ve taken a poll, and am not surprised that I am one of the few people I know that loves winter. I am surprised, though, to find so many brides who like the cold as well! Jackie and David may be enjoying a very warm honeymoon in Thailand, but they’re winter wedding was so beautifully well put together, and I cannot wait to share it with you.
Jackie was so forward thinking about her winter wedding. When I arrived at the bridal suite, there were furs lined up on the mantle for each of her bridesmaids, and fur muffs for her two flower girls!
When our original indoor first look location was compromised, she shrugged and said “let’s do it outside!” Such a trooper! The sun had just set and the golden light lit up the west wing of the Palace at Somerset Park. It could not have been anymore perfect!
A Sentimental Winter Wedding
The sentimental theme that carried throughout the entire day was the way David doted on Jackie. He can be seen kissing her neck, her forehead, reaching for her hand and just keeping her as close to himself as humanly possible. They certainly made my job easy!
My favorite part of the day? Listening to the toasts. I always ask my bride and groom to tell me about themselves, but there’s only so much detail a person is going to say about themselves. Friends, however, will dish all! I loved hearing how similar Jackie is in her directional abilities, and that David was a marine who served our country! There were tears of laughter mixed with tears of sentiment and heartfelt love poured out onto these two by so many of their loved ones.
Moving past sentiment, Jackie and David opted to take the “fling the cake” approach to cutting their cake, which was endlessly entertaining! Once we cleaned them up, we warmed them up with the fiery flambe and then froze them outside for a few night shots. Kissing and doting ended the night as we said our goodbyes.
Thank you so much, Jackie and David, for having us there to celebrate! Thank you to Barbara Wentzel for your second shooting and amazing angle expertise!
