New York City elopement in Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of ArtCourthouse Central Park Chic Wedding

I am not that clever, I did not come up with this title. My talented “chic” Manhattan bride, Michele did. She was inspired by her fun find at Neiman Marcus for her last minute micro wedding in New York City. Michele and Ryan are a first season Corona couple who had to make last minute changes to their spring 2020 wedding. I think we have rescheduled their wedding three times!

It all worked out for the micro wedding in Central Park, when literally my calendar opened up for them to have me there for the special occasion! Michele and Ryan live just a few blocks from this iconic spot in front of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

“We want something that’s very New York!” And that’s exactly how I would describe this spot! From the rows of street art, to the pigeons frightening everyone below and the large mass of people on the street. It doesn’t get anymore New York City than this. I think my favorite part, was seeing what I often times believe to be “jaded New Yorkers” clapping and cheering for the bride and groom as we attempted pictures on the steps of the Met. It was such a sweet moment! Clearly, I wasn’t the only one surprised, the look of astonishment on Michele and Ryan’s faces is priceless.

From there, we walked a short distance into Central Park where Michele and Ryan planned their intimate ceremony. The invitation was open to their family and friends. No RSVP required, just a “hey, we’re getting married! Come watch if you like!” The turnout was heartwarming! So many friends arrived ready to witness the official wedding of Michele and Ryan.

Michele and Ryan got married under a chuppah held up by each of their parents and every small detail had such significant meaning. The kiddish cups belonged to grandparents and were used during their weddings over 60 years ago!

What a wonderful way to officially become husband and wife! Michele and Ryan, we loved witnessing this momentous event and being part of it! I can’t wait for your large wedding next year! Thank you so much, Maggie DiVirgilio for always being up for every event!

I love Michele and Ryan’s reaction to the New Yorkers cheers and enthusiasm for the happy couple!

So great reuniting with two of my wonderful brides!
