A Fall Country Club Wedding
Kaity and John certainly had their priorities in line when they planned their October wedding at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club just two months after their engagement! Getting married in the fall was important to Kaity, it’s her favorite season! Luckily for them, Fiddler’s Elbow had an opening for them. The changing colors of the trees was the perfect backdrop for their outdoor ceremony. Another important part of the wedding, or should I say 8 important parts were Kaity and John’s nieces and nephews! Yes, 8 of them! You certainly get a mix of all different personalities when you have that many children under 10 as part of the celebration!
Kaity and John love children and even took some time to give the kids a ride on the enormous golf cart. Again, we’re talking about 8 children under the age of 10 in one golf cart! I’m sure it’s a special memory they will all keep, and I am pretty sure it was the highlight of John’s day.
The overcast skies gave the perfect ambience for a clean light, fall-like day. After the ceremony, the cocktail hour was held out on the back deck, with children playing tag in between all the “grown-ups.” The reception was inside Fiddler’s Elbow’s ballroom. It was a first for me all year! The tables were more spaced out to allow for social distancing and the room was beautifully decorated by From Peonies to Paintchips! I always love the way they create a “secret garden” look to any indoor space!
We stayed just long enough to watch the new husband and wife wow their guests with their dancing skills (after just two dance lessons) and hear the toasts given by fathers and siblings. The string quartet that played for the ceremony stayed through dinner, giving the atmosphere a peaceful and elegant note throughout the evening.
Sadly, this was our last wedding of the year, but it was a great wedding to close out our 2020! What a year it has been. I am thinking of and praying for our newlyweds and all of our misplaced 2020 couples as well. I know that this year has made us stronger and more grateful for what was not lost, and also hopeful for a better future.
Thank you Kaity and John for making us part of your beautiful wedding! I loved ending the year with you! Thank you Barbara Wentzel for being an amazing second shooter as always!
