A Trump National Spring Wedding
I met Erica in Central Park just a few weeks ago! She contacted me to take her bridal portraits in Central Park to display at her wedding at the end of May. Erica and her maid of honor were heading down 72nd Street toward Central Park West in full wedding attire. A bride and her bridesmaid. The most beautiful two people in the park on a Monday morning in April. As much as I wish we had time for a two hour bridal session on a wedding day, that’s just not practical. So, I was very excited to have this opportunity to do just that! Of course, I’m adding some of those portraits to this blog post, because I love them! When I arrived at the reception at Trump National, I was even more thrilled to see several of them printed and framed all over!
Now, it just so happened that I was not on the schedule to photograph Erica and Kacper’s wedding until just recently. I actually had another wedding on the calendar, and she had a different photographer. However, just three weeks before her wedding, my schedule opened up and she asked me to photograph her wedding! If she had asked even three months ago, it would have never been possible! Talk about stars aligning!
Erica and Kacper are the sweetest together. I loved seeing so many traditions combining for this New Jersey countryside wedding. Erica is originally from Texas and Kacper’s family is from Poland, and they got engaged in Capri! Erica and her girls got ready in lemon robes to commemorate the theme of where their proposal began!
The contrast the Amalfi coast theme, the wedding day was a black tie affair, filled with blush pink, mauve and bold burgundy florals. The flowers were everywhere and absolutely amazing, but that’s to be expected when the mother of the bride is a florist herself!
Erica and Kacper got married at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church in Peapack, which itself was designed to imitate an ancient Irish chapel. Following their ceremony we headed back to Trump National Golf Club for the reception. It’s hard to believe this church and this venue exist in New Jersey! One would think we were in the English countryside! The grounds at Trump National are absolutely breathtaking! And because the day was overcast, we were able to take advantage of every angle from the pool house to the clubhouse! Despite popular belief, a sunny day for day portraits is not ideal because there are irregular shadows and inevitable wincing. A nice overcast day creates such soft light and offers so many more options!
To be honest, we took some extra time with Erica and Kacper’s bride and groom portraits. First of all, they are a beautiful couple inside and out! They fall right into place with each other, and they made our jobs so easy! Also, we were convinced we wouldn’t have a “sunset” which we usually photograph later! We were so wrong. The sun made one appearance all day. It appeared on the horizon of the golf course as it was setting, and all the guests came out to see it! Such a stunning sight!
We ended the night with dancing, toasts, roasts and a sparkler exit!
Congratulations, Erica & Kacper! I sure hope you are soaking up the sun and warmth in Jamaica, and enjoying yourselves! Thank you so much for having us to capture your beautiful day!
