A Family Tradition Wedding

Third time is a charm for Caroline and Jon! When deciding on their wedding, venue was the most important factor for Caroline and Jon. The venue would be Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club, where Caroline’s parent’s got married almost 40 years ago.

At first, Caroline planned for a Christmas wedding. However, when the pandemic changed those plans, they decided an early spring wedding would be the ticket. Well, we were still not quite in the clear by March, so finally the wedding day would be September. Jon even had beer stein’s engraved for himself and groomsmen that had all three dates on them with the other two dates crossed out!

With the September wedding date, Caroline had to make one tiny adjustment. Instead of the holiday green and red, the colors changed to green and hot pink and we all loved it! The hot pink, or fuschia (if you’re feeling fancy) was a fun pop of color that completely lit up the day! The skies were a cool blanket of overcast, which is great for pictures and the guests for an outdoor wedding, but the hot pink popped against the grey skies of their ceremony arch!

One of the pictures that Caroline really wanted was a photograph in the window in the back staircase of Fiddler’s Elbow. I had seen this window open before…but based on our attempts to open the window, it hadn’t been done in quite some time. Our best man, Brian to the rescue. Brian made it his life’s mission to get this window casing open, and with much effort, accomplished his goal. Caroline and Jon have the photo they wanted and it was worth it!

After the wedding ceremony, the guests headed in for Caroline and Jon’s custom cocktails and dancing at reception. There may or may not have been some serious roasts instead of toasts for our wonderful groom, but the whole room was filled with laughter and joy.

We ended the night in a very special way – with a replica photo of Caroline’s parent’s on their wedding night. A few things are different – Caroline and Jon are still in their wedding clothes, and the awning at Fiddler’s Elbow has changed, but the spirit remains the same.

Caroline and Jon, we are so thrilled that we finally got to celebrate your wedding day! Thank you for having us there to celebrate you! Congratulations!
