Early Fall Wedding at Hamilton Farm
When I first spoke with Annie and Michael about their wedding, they had neither a date or a venue chosen! What a fun process to help them determine the right vibe for their dream wedding! Annie is a California native, so the metropolitan options were all new to her and I loved being there to help.
Once Annie and Michael toured Hamilton Farm, however, that was it. They found their dream venue. The date was chosen and their wedding plans were underway!
Family is very important to Annie, and her Grandparents are no exception. In fact, when Michael asked Annie’s parents permission to ask Annie to marry him, he also made sure to get permission from Annie’s grandparents as well! Annie and Michael asked Annie’s brother, Blake, to officiate the wedding. He made the ceremony all his own and tailored everything to Annie and Michael, including a shot of tequila, and a gifted bowl of mac and cheese. Annie and Michael wrote their own vows, and when Blake handed his sister her vows, she shook her head and pointed to a different piece of paper. I think we were all wondering “how many vows did she write up?” Blake is very quick, handed her the “correct” paper and responded to the awaiting guests, “different husband.”
Right after their beautiful ceremony, we pulled Annie and Michael out of their cocktail hour for a few pictures as the sun faded in the distance. Before they went back to their cocktail hour, they just stood hand in hand looking out over the crowd, taking it all in. I took a picture of them looking out and walking away, and it’s one of my all-time favorites.
After their introductions, first dance and hora at reception, Grandpa gave a touching speech and even had Annie and Michael stand up with him to speak with them directly. This is my favorite! Grandpa said something I will never forget, “Anyone can love someone, but you two really seem to like each other.” So true! Also, I absolutely agree. Annie naturally lights up a room with her vibrant personality, but Michael also lights up just being around her. It was so nice to see, so easy to capture, and such a joy to be part of this day.
Annie and Michael, congratulations! We are so happy we could be part of your happily ever after!
