Carly and Bennett are finally married! It’s been a long time coming, and we were so excited to finally celebrate this wonderful pair. When the pandemic first sent us all home, it sent Carly and Bennett into work everyday because they are both doctors. It wasn’t long into pandemic when they asked me if I could hold October 2nd of the following year for their postponed wedding. Last year was anything but a break for these two. While many of us were sleeping in and sporting pajamas daily, both of them were finishing their residencies and changing hospitals, all the while patiently waiting their turn to finally have their dream wedding! Last Saturday, we finally made that happen!

Now, when I first met Carly and Bennett, they were living apart, Carly in New York and Bennett in Philadelphia. To close their Philadelphia chapter, we decided to take their engagement pictures in Philly, and I loved touring their favorite spots! It is hard to believe that was way back in 2019. However, these two are naturals in front of the camera and we got a wonderful tour of all that Montammy Golf Club had to offer during their wedding day portrait session. Carly’s dress was made for her. It’s simple contours made it easy for her to pick up with one hand, and the added veil (which her sister also wore at her wedding) was the perfect accessory!

Back near the clubhouse, we met with all 23 members of their wedding party for some fun portraits under the golden sun. With the ceremony to begin at sunset, all of these portraits were finished as the last of the sun faded away. Right before Carly and Bennett walked down the aisle, they began their ceremony by signing their ketubah with their family and wedding party as witnesses. During this ceremony, the Rabbi mentioned that she asked both Carly and Bennett what their favorite place was – where they love to spend time together. Their response was the living room couch. Somewhere they could be together, cozy and just the two of them. The perfect getaway for practical super heroes who go to work each and every day and make a difference.

As the sun set and the sky turned purple, Carly and Bennett made their vows to one another. Carly mentioned that her favorite moment of the Jewish ceremony is when they are wrapped in the tallit together under the chuppah. I think my favorite was seeing their smiling faces on the other side – just soaking up every moment of this once in a lifetime right of passage.

After their ceremony – it was a full on dance party that stopped only for toasts from their families who reminisced about who these two wonderful people were growing up, and who they have become as a couple. And now, husband and wife!
