A Spring Wedding at the Park Avenue Club
You know when you see something on Pinterest and you bookmark it with every intention of replicating it exactly? In reality, we set ourselves up for a #pinterestfail. Amanda’s not like that. I swear she is the one that creates the content that inspires Pinterest users far and wide. There are no Pinterest fails here. Every well thought out detail from Amanda and Michael’s wedding was a success and I had the best time photographing all of it. Not a single detail was missing from Amanda’s assortment and she even made two pearl studded champagne bottles! When I gushed about Amanda’s organization and talent to her soon-to-be-husband, Michael, he said that the Cricut was working overtime for months. I believe it!
Amanda and Michael’s wedding day began as the clouds dispersed and the last of the rain drops fell from the sky. When I arrived in NJ, I was a little disconcerted by the lack of foliage so early in the spring season. However, when I arrived at the Park Avenue Club and saw a lower parking lot had the most glorious weeping cherry tree, I was beyond inspired. Amanda was thrilled to see my iPhone snapshot of the beloved tree that morning and we quickly changed plans for our first look location. We were heading for the tree that so beautifully set the scene for Amanda and Michael’s beautiful spring wedding.
While Amanda and Michael did intend to write their own vows for their ceremony, they also wanted to share more personal vows in private. After their first look and bride and groom portraits, they did just that. Under the pink and white branches of the falling petals, they shared their letters with each other. This is one of my favorite details (although intangible) from the wedding! These are the moments that seem to make time stand still on your wedding day. Where you can really enjoy an intimate moment with the person you are marrying!
From that moment on, it was a flurry of portraits with the wedding party and family. As the sun began to dip, the guests arrived for their ceremony under the chuppah, with Amanda’s Uncle ready to marry them.
At the entrance to the ballroom was a large boxwood wall and monogram that Amanda had also made! The escort cards were attached to the large wall so guests could find their tables. The ballroom was filled with blush and gold decor. Once the party started, it didn’t stop! We quickly cut their cake and then it was back on the dance floor!
Amanda and Michael, we are so happy for you! Thank you for trusting us and making us such a special part of your day! Congratulations, newlyweds!
