A Heartfelt Summer Wedding at Fiddler’s Elbow

Kristen and Santiago met each other quite a few times before they became “Kristen and Santi.” Over the years, meeting at mutual friend’s parties, or day trips to the beach, each time one or both were in a relationship. It wasn’t until one Thanksgiving when they met again, this time both single. Not for long!

Dating through a pandemic where there is no where to go and no one else to see is a true test of one’s commitment. As we pulled out of the lockdowns, Santiago was sure that Kristen was the only girl for him. He proposed in the fall of 2021 and the wedding planning began!

Santiago is a huge golf fan (as his is father-in-law) and Kristen just loved Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club. They booked this venue as soon as they got engaged. One week later, I got an inquiry from Kristen and I am so glad I did! Working with Kristen and Santiago has been an absolute pleasure. They are a truly special couple and have trusted me in some seriously extreme weather conditions. First, the day of their engagement session called for a torrential thunderstorm. I insisted that after the heavy rain would be a gorgeous sunset. Instead of hesitating, they were all in! The rain dispersed just hours before their scheduled session and we had an epic golden hour into sunset over Bayne Park!

Fast forward to their wedding day, and it promised to be a hot one! We spent the entire day outdoors, and these two still had smiling faces. Laughter and joy overflowed from them and all of their family members. The heat wouldn’t stop us! One of my favorite moments of the day, was when Kristen and Santiago gave each of their parents a hand written letter. I get emotional just looking at the pictures and remembering how they singled out each parent to make sure they had a moment with them to tell them how important they are.

During Kristen’s father’s welcome speech he reminded friends and family that daughters often marry a man that reminds them of their father. He said that if Santiago was any reflection of himself, he was honored and welcomed him as the newest member of the family. From what I know of Santiago, I can say that I agree with him!

Kristen and Santiago, I am so happy for you! I loved working with you and wish you all the best for your future together!
