When a golf-loving groom and a country club-loving bride are on the search for their perfect wedding venue, you can’t do better than Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club. Kristen and Matt met at work, but when Kristen moved on from that company, she kept Matt around. Now Matt and Kristen run a new team, the husband and wife team! Last Saturday we celebrated these two with a classic summer wedding in Bedminster.
Kristen had told me from the beginning that family is very important, and it was evident all day. From the ease of all-in-one location planning for their wedding guests, to the involvement of little ones (namely, Matt’s nephews and niece), to the extended cocktail hour that allowed for the newlyweds to spend quality time with their loved ones. This joyous day was made complete by the friends and family that were involved.
I spend a lot of time at Fiddler’s Elbow for weddings, and am always pleasantly surprised at how different each wedding is. The location doesn’t make the wedding, the people do. Kristen walking down the stairs, calling out to her Dad as he watched his baby girl descend the stairs as a bride. Matt holding Kristen’s hand as they quietly read their vows to each other. The tears running down Kristen’s cheek as they said their “I dos” at the alter, with Matt lovingly wiping it away. These are what made their wedding day so memorable and special.
Kristen and Matt are a truly caring and loving couple. It is evident in their pictures how much they adore each other. In person, they are the same way with those around them. They make everyone feel special and important. When the rain threatened to come down at the same time of their outdoor ceremony, Kristen shrugged and made the best of it. She got to marry the love of her life, so the weather wasn’t going to ruin anything. When the little ones, three ring bearers and one flower girl, were melting down or running along Kristen’s train, she laughed. Kristen’s joy is contagious, and Matt’s admiration for Kristen is evident. I know these are admirable traits are what brought them together and will continue to strengthen their relationship as a married couple.
Congratulations, Kristen and Matt! We loved being part of your wedding day, and know that the future for you is a bright one! Thank you for sharing this special part of your lives with us!
