A Traditional Wedding at the Indian Trail Club
“From all the pictures on your site, you can tell how much fun the bride and groom are having and you seem to capture all the little moments during the day perfectly.” This was from my first email from Katharine, and I knew we were perfect for each other! I mean, Katharine and Mike are perfect for each other, haha, but there is definitely a different kind of relationship between a bride and her photographer (who is constantly around on the wedding day!) that is so important.
Katharine and Mike have known each other since they were kids! On her wedding day, she shared a picture on instagram of the two of them when they were teenagers (pre-teens?!) and it made me think “what would those kids say if we told them that in 2021, they would be getting married?”
Mike proposed to Katharine in Lavallette, so what better place to take engagement pictures, than Lavallette? At my recommendation, we all woke up before the crack of dawn for the most beautiful sunrise photos! On the outside, the pictures are beautiful, in reality, the sun was HOT and the humidity was intense. Katharine and Mike didn’t even seem to mind and you can see their summer beach engagement session HERE!
With lots of photo practice (thanks engagement session) in extreme temperatures, they were ready for the most beautiful, temperate September wedding day! The clouds were puffy white, the sky blue reflected off the lake behind the Indian Trail Club, and Katharine was glowing. Surrounded by her best girls and adorable nieces, Katharine was ready to head to the church and marry the love of her life.
In Catholic ceremonies, we are continually covering the aisle because, often times, the Priest doesn’t tell the bride and groom to kiss…or instructs them quietly…or in Mike and Katharine’s case, tells them to go for it off to the side where no one could see them! Quick thinking Mike pulled his new wife into the center aisle for their first kiss, and we were so proud of him! He also continued to kiss her all the way down the aisle! The sweetest moments!
After they exited the church through a stairway of bubbles, the newlyweds drove off in their Rolls Royce, tagged “Just Married” over the boot. Katherine’s attention to classic details were so on point!
We photographed family, the wedding party and their bride and groom portraits overlooking the lake, while the guests looked on and enjoyed cocktail hour. Just before the reception began, the most beautiful sunset glowed in the reflection of the lake, and we stole the newlyweds for just a few more pictures!
We danced the evening away, and even got to see old friends! Katharine is best friends with my future bride, Kate, and Kate’s sister, Marybeth was my bride from 2018! A past, present and future couple all in the same room! What a wonderful reunion!
Congratulations, Katharine and Mike! Your wedding was so joyfully anticipated and I am so happy to see have captured your wonderful day!
